We’ll help you understand your legal rights after a car accident. Did you know that you have 14 days to see a medical provider after your car accident, in order to qualify for Personal Injury (PI) benefits? People always ask, who is considered a Medical Provider? The answer is simple. The following are considered to be medical providers,
- Physician whether an MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathy)
- ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner) or Physician Assistant
For those who are wondering, if you went to an Urgent Care or to the Emergency room that also counts as being seen within the 14 (fourteen) day grace period. Once you have completed this initial step you are now eligible to start receiving PI benefits. What are some of your options?
- Go about your everyday routine ( Not Recommended)
- Consult a Licensed Physician that specializes in Personal Injury.
- Seek treatment from a Chiropractor.
- You can seek the help and advice of a Lawyer.
All of the above are options. Option 1 (one) is not recommended because unfortunately, the human body is very delicate and not seeking treatment can cause you more harm than good, NO MATTER HOW UNAFFECTED YOU FEEL. If you chose any of the other options please make sure that they have your best interest at mind and not just their financial gain. There are a lot of people willing to help the injured out there and a lot just looking to take advantage of you. If something doesn’t feel right about the provider or lawyer, just walk away it is okay to do so and your right! Don’t allow anyone to pressure you into doing or seeing someone you are not comfortable with. Relief MD is here to help if you need it. We will help and guide you to the appropriate people with your care and health in mind. Contact us if you have questions or have been involved in a car accident and need help and guidance.
